OnePlus 14 Launches With Hasselblad Camera System and Snapdragon 8 Elite
OnePlus 14 Raises the Flagship Bar
OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 14 in China, with a global release planned for February. The flagship smartphone features a triple 50-megapixel Hasselblad camera system, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
OnePlus president and COO Kinder Liu said the device represents "a no-compromise approach where we refused to make the usual flagship tradeoffs." The OnePlus 14 starts at 4,299 yuan ($590) in China, with global pricing expected around $799.
Camera System Details
The Hasselblad-tuned camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with a custom LYT-808 sensor from Sony, a 50MP ultrawide with a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto. All three lenses produce optically consistent color output, a hallmark of the Hasselblad partnership.
New camera features include a computational macro mode that combines ultrawide and telephoto data, a 4K Dolby Vision video mode, and an improved AI-powered night photography algorithm that OnePlus claims reduces noise by 35% compared to the OnePlus 13.
Performance and Display
The Snapdragon 8 Elite delivers a 45% GPU improvement over the previous generation, according to Qualcomm benchmarks. The OnePlus 14 pairs it with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The 6.82-inch BOE X2 LTPO display supports a 120Hz refresh rate with 4,500 nit peak brightness, making it one of the brightest smartphone displays available.
Battery life testing by Chinese reviewers showed 15 hours of continuous screen-on time, with the 100W charger filling the battery from 0% to 100% in 36 minutes.
Competitive Position
The OnePlus 14 enters an increasingly competitive premium Android market. Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Pro, and Vivo X200 Pro all target the same segment with Snapdragon 8 Elite processors and advanced camera systems.
OnePlus differentiates on value — the $799 global starting price undercuts Samsung's $1,299 S25 Ultra by a significant margin. Counterpoint Research analyst Tarun Pathak said OnePlus "continues to offer flagship specs at a price point that makes Samsung and Apple uncomfortable."
